I wrote a song two years before my husband and I started dating called, Letter to My Future Husband. I will reference the lyrics of that song throughout this series as the Lyric of the Week.
Lyric of the Week:
"Let that bass bump and them snares ride
Peace on the inside
Couldn't find it in this world so I had to find it in my God."
The man I married and the things I envisioned we would do, like taking long walks, reading, and making music together; are a perfect match. My husband listens to the song, Letter to My Future Husband, and says, "Yup, that's me." So, with that being said, I would like to share my journey of preparing to meet my husband/growth in Biblical Womanhood.
Before seeking a relationship with an imperfect man, first begin with a strong relationship with the only perfect Man, namely Jesus.
A true man of God is seeking a woman of God because that is critical for his life and ministry.
Are you a woman or a woman of God?
The answer to that question deals with your heart. What you love the most not just with your words, but with your actions tells the truth about whether you are a woman or a woman of God.
Mark 12:30 "And you shall love the LORD you God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment."
In the past if you asked me did I love Jesus, I would have said, "yes". If you asked me if I was obeying His commandments that would have been a different response.
When I started reading His word, I learned this was a problem. Check out this verse:
"If you love Me, obey My commandments." (John 14:15)
Since we are on the topic of dating, there is a specific topic we should talk about:
